Dive into a meaningful underwater experience with our I.CARE Coral Outplanting Dive in the Florida Keys. Departing from Key Dives in Islamorada, this specialized dive lets certified divers participate in hands-on coral planting and reef restoration. Work alongside the I.CARE team to transplant nursery corals onto Florida Keys reef sites — a rewarding way to combine Florida Keys scuba diving with conservation.
You’ll gain insight into reef ecology, help protect the ecosystem, and enjoy one of the most unique Key Largo scuba diving experiences available.
Coral Outplant Dive Schedule
- 8:30 AM: Outplanting training at the I.CARE/Key Dives shop (85960 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada, FL 33036). Learn about the reefs being restored through a brief presentation and hands-on demonstration of safe outplanting techniques.
- Lunch Break: 1–2 hour break between the training and dives. Bring your own lunch or explore nearby restaurants. Ask our staff for suggestions.
- 12:15 PM: Check-in at the shop for the afternoon boat
- 12:30 PM: Depart the dock for two dives at the outplanting site, supervised by an I.CARE Divemaster and Key Dives staff. All outplanting equipment provided.
- 4:00–5:00 PM: Return to dock
